planned. More importantly, meeting decided to develop new possible initiatives to submit proposals to respond to calls by EC and any other donors to keep the group intact and improve education further. BAU, The New Partner: Project Team is working on to establish internship program Bangladesh Agriculture University (BAU), Mymensing, Bangladesh as an expansion plan. Ram visited BAU on 26th August 2009 to initiated the program giving a talk program followed by questions and answers. More than 60 students and faculty members were present during the presentation. This was followed by curriculum review workshop during 13-15 October 2009. From AIT side, Amrit Bart, Peter Edwards and Antonio were present while from BAU side, more about 20 lecturers and students were present. First batch of interns is going to start from January 2010. BAU plans to send about 10 students per batch to private fish farms/hatcheries and communities to learn from the field during the internship period. On June 10, 2010, Prof. Md. A. Wahab, the Cordinator from Bangladesh has mentioned that, "We have already engaged 11 interns (5 male & 6 female students) in six aqua-industries in April 2010. They are expected to complete in June 30. We made formal MoU with six industries including hatcheries, catfish/Tilapia/carp farms, fish feed companies. The intern students and the industries have developed superb working relations which is gradually expanding our proposed academia-industry relations. One of various kinds of benefits of this relations, is the use of on-farm facilities by the faculty staffs and students for degree research programmes that was absent or minimal in the past. The next batch of intern will start in early July and would expect to complete in September 30th. Already selection processes have been started. The includes advertisement, calling for applications. The students have applied with a brief project concept note developed in consultation of their supervisors. The Intern Selection Committee (ISC) consisting of the Dean and four Heads of Departments will evaluate the application and concept notes and thus make final selection of the interns. Then a formal meeting between the supervisors and the on-farm supervisors will take place. The students and the project concept notes will be introduced to each of the potential industry manager. This process would take 2-3 weeks."
